Malaysian Radio Amateurs respond to flooding.

Severe flooding in West Malaysia has already claimed five lives and led to 100,000 people being evacuated according to press reports. Malaysian Radio Amateurs have been assisting in relief efforts initially using VHF/UHF repeaters and now with a HF network linking Kuala Lumpur, Kuantan, Kemaman and Bachok on 7.110MHz using voice modes. It is anticipated that 3.600MHz will also be used to maintain links overnight, this frequency being in accordance with the Region 3 bandplan.

Radio Amateurs are requested to avoid causing QRM to these emergency operations.
